Dates are an essential part of Oriental cuisine, and date syrup has also been used in the East for many centuries. Today, it has become a rising star among fruit-based sweeteners here as well. TanteLy date syrup is made from the juice of ripe organic dates from Tunisia. There, the fruits grow on palm trees that can live up to 200 years and reach heights of up to 30 meters. The palms bear their first fruits after 8–10 years, and then only every two years. The fruit can be used fresh or dried.

Date syrup is a purely plant-based product and therefore a vegan alternative to fruity, caramel-like honey varieties.
